NCRB has recently released suicide data for the year 2015. This year too, the same tragic story is repeated. Suicides of males are double that of females. The suicide of males have increased, while that of females have decreased. 91,528 males have committed suicides, while the number for females were 42088. NCRB has published suicide stats for the year 2014. It shows the same continuous disturbing trend of the widening gap between male and female suicides.Below is a graph of suicide numbers for males and females since 1967. Many people try to incorrectly portray this as a husband wife problem.
